This Privacy Policy explains how LiveExchanges (“we”, “us”, “our”) treats information when you visit liveexchanges.com and its language editions (the “Site”). We have deliberately built the Site to be simple and privacy-friendly: it is a public, read-only information service. You do not need an account to use it, and we do not ask you for personal details to show you exchange rates. Please read this policy carefully so you understand our practices.
No accounts, no registration
The Site requires no sign-up, no login and no membership of any kind. There are no user profiles, no passwords and no “my account” area. Because there is nothing to register for, we do not create or maintain any account records about you, and we do not ask you to submit your name, address, phone number or payment information to browse rates, charts or the converter.
Information we do not collect
We do not knowingly collect or store personally identifiable information that you provide, for the simple reason that the Site does not request it. We do not build advertising profiles of named individuals ourselves, we do not sell personal data, and we do not run a newsletter or marketing database from your browsing of the Site. The one place you can voluntarily send us information is our contact form — see “Contact” below.
Server logs and technical data
Like virtually every website, our hosting infrastructure may automatically record standard technical request data — such as your IP address, browser type and version, the pages requested, referring page and timestamps. This information is used for security, abuse prevention, diagnostics and to keep the service running reliably. It is technical in nature and is not used by us to identify you personally.
Cookies
A cookie is a small text file stored by your browser. The Site itself uses minimal cookies or local storage only for basic functionality and preferences — for example, remembering your chosen colour theme (light or dark) and language. These functional items are not used to track you across other websites.
However, third-party services we use — most notably advertising — may set their own cookies, as described in the next section. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time; doing so will not prevent you from reading rates on the Site.
Advertising (Google and third-party vendors)
This Site is supported by advertising, and we display ads served by third parties, including Google. To deliver and measure these ads, Google and other advertising vendors and ad networks may use cookies, web beacons and similar technologies.
- As a third-party vendor, Google uses cookies (including, historically, the DoubleClick DART cookie) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this Site and other sites on the internet.
- Google and its partners may use advertising identifiers and cookies to show you personalized (interest-based) ads, to limit how many times you see a given ad, and to measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns.
- Third-party ad networks other than Google may likewise place and read cookies on your device when their ads are shown, subject to their own privacy policies, over which we have no control.
You can learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services, and review your options, at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by Google via Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com), and opt out of interest-based advertising from many vendors at aboutads.info/choices and youronlinechoices.eu (for users in Europe).
Analytics
We may use privacy-conscious analytics to understand aggregate, anonymous usage of the Site (for example, which pages are popular). Where used, such analytics are intended to report trends in aggregate rather than to identify you individually.
Your choices
You remain in control. You can browse with cookies disabled, use your browser’s private or incognito mode, install ad-blocking or tracking-protection extensions, clear cookies and local storage, and use the opt-out tools linked above to disable personalized advertising. The core content of the Site — live rates, charts and the converter — works regardless of these choices.
Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal. There is no industry-wide standard for how DNT should be honoured. Because the Site does not itself track individuals across other websites, our own functionality is unaffected by DNT; third-party advertisers handle such signals according to their respective policies.
Children’s privacy
The Site is a general-audience financial information service and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
International visitors
We serve visitors worldwide across multiple language editions. By using the Site, you understand that any information you choose to send us (for instance, via the contact form) may be processed in the countries where we or our service providers operate.
Data security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the limited information we handle. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology or legal requirements. When we do, we will revise the “Effective date” above. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
